New Year blues

We all have these grand ideas when looking forward to the start if a new year.

Now this could be healthy eating and a new fancy exercise plan, or perhaps it’s about wanting to travel more, or a change of career maybe.

But when the new year comes around, has it changed anything physically. Not really no.

So why do we wait until a particular calendar date? Why not just do it now, or tomorrow.

I’ll admit, come January, I always feel a bit meh. Now I think that’s mostly due to the weather and that things feel a bit boring. We tend to be indoors a little more.

Now that in turn means I myself try to then think about the coming spring and the potential of what could be.

I’ve tried to be realistic in having a plan for the new year ahead.

All I’ve said, is to try and do more interesting activities more often. The goal is once a week, but we all know that life can get in the way. So it’s more like, four interesting things a month. Now it could be going to a museum, art gallery, book shop or just a walk somewhere new. It doesn’t have to be epic, expensive or difficult. But something interesting that gets the mind working and hopefully inspires something.

What i did do, was to book a few things. To give some examples of what I’ve already organised,

London museums, a photography workshop with Matt Hall in London (next week actually), a particular walking route in London with the camera and some places to visit along the way (today actually, photography show and a few other things.

I feel, if I don’t book things or plan things, I tend to just wing it and then I feel frustrated when I don’t end up doing much.

So I guess all I’m saying is, find things you enjoy and make a plan, but things into motion and have thingsbto look forward to in the coming months. Otherwise January and the early months can feel long and depressing.
